Cats and Doilies

Those of you who follow my blog know I have a soft spot for cats and doilies, today I have both for you.

This little ballerina cat is 15 cm tall ad is made in cotton just right to fit into a little one’s hand.  I made her a couple of weeks ago and she got very lonely and when I saw a picture of a large amineko cat done in long variegated yarn on Pinterest, I followed the link and just had to make a friend.

I used a cotton acrylic mix, Summer stripes by Sirdar.  I think I will be making more of him!  The pattern can be found here -https://amigurumi.today/large-ami-cat-crochet-pattern/

Now to the doilies!

While on Pinterest (isn’t it a wonderful site, but one that sucks away your time, lol.) I saw some doilies by Grace Fearon, So I investigated her website and she had several free patterns, which I duly downloaded and found myself doing two doilies over the last week!  I love her patterns they are highly textured.

This is Grace Fearon's website if you want to have doily eye candy.

I hope that your weather is better than ours, we have had winter return this past week, hopefully it will improve this coming week, anyways it is a great day snuggling up in front of the fire with coffee and crochet, just like my friends here.

I hope you have a wonderful creative week.

Hi Folks

I am very happy, it is spring and most of all I am crocheting again!!!!  The last 18 months were a difficult time for me as my mother was experiencing a difficult time with Alzheimer’s and took up a lot of time.  Sadly, she died the beginning of July at 89 years, it was a beautiful peaceful passing and we are all grateful for that. She had a good life. Things are becoming normal again, Yay! So, you will see more of me again, lol!

My focus in crochet has changed a lot, I am in love with quick projects, baby clothes, amigurumi, Washcloths etc.  No more blankets for the moment, I may finish some that are lurking in the cupboards, but my feeling is that they can stay there for the summer!

Today I should be mowing the lawns, they are getting rather long, (I hate that first cut of spring!).  But crochet and the sun spoke to me and I have whiled away some time, sitting in the porch making hearts and hedgehog pincushions.  I stopped because I do need to do the lawn as it is going to rain tomorrow and then I will have to wait till they are dry again meanwhile they are still growing a pace.  However, I thought I would write a quick post to show willing, (diversion tactics at work here me thinks).  I have been trying to do all week, but time slips away.

Here are some examples of crochet I have completed in the last couple of weeks
Rose Teddy

Lazy Bones Bear
squeezy crdi and Lisha Hat

itty bitty turtles

Now I must do those lawns or at least start on them!

Have a wonder day where ever you are and see you soon.

Here's to you Mum, will miss you terribly!

Diversions

Not a lot of crochet has been done this past week.  I have been lured away from it by the garden and the urge to do spring cleaning, which i...
