Those of you who follow my blog know I have a soft spot
for cats and doilies, today I have both for you.
This
little ballerina cat is 15 cm tall ad is made in cotton just right to fit into
a little one’s hand. I made her a couple
of weeks ago and she got very lonely and when I saw a picture of a large
amineko cat done in long variegated yarn on Pinterest, I followed the link and
just had to make a friend.
I used a cotton acrylic mix, Summer stripes by Sirdar. I think I will be making more of him! The pattern can be found here -https://amigurumi.today/large-ami-cat-crochet-pattern/
Now to the doilies!
While on Pinterest (isn’t it a wonderful site, but one
that sucks away your time, lol.) I saw some doilies by Grace Fearon, So I investigated
her website and she had several free patterns, which I duly downloaded and
found myself doing two doilies over the last week! I love her patterns they are highly textured.

This is Grace Fearon's website if you want to have doily eye candy.
I hope that your weather is better than ours, we have had
winter return this past week, hopefully it will improve this coming week,
anyways it is a great day snuggling up in front of the fire with coffee and
crochet, just like my friends here.
I hope you have a wonderful creative week.
Zana.
Hi Zana, I'm so glad to find your blog. My adult daughter and I looked after my dad in his last years, (he died at 91, with us) and I know the emotions and feelings are complicated, even when you know your mother had a good long life. It's been almost 10 years, but I still occasionally think "oh, I have to tell Dad that" before I remember he's "gone to his reward" as he put it. And every so often I have the distinct feeling that he's sending us a little message about our choices and decisions--all to to the good, of course, but with a bit of a nudge. I hope it doesn't feel inappropriate for me to mention this--I just felt a warm rush of sympathy when I read your previous post. (And, I live in the insane US, so my feelings are a bit raw right now.)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I love your cats and doilies--Siobhan especially--and the amineko cat has been waiting patiently for me to get crocheting for a year or two now. Thanks for the dose of sanity and creativity, which is sorely needed here in cloud cuckoo land. Kate in Oregon
Hi Kate, thanks for your visit to my blog. Losing a parent is hard and I suppose we never really totally get over it we just have to carry on as the best we can. For me it is the emptiness of the day now, crocheting is a wonderful as it calms and soothes as I ponder catching up with my life! I do have to admit we do sit back and watch events in the US with bemusement ( also with sadness (flooding in Texas).
DeleteI LOVE those doilies, I am going to pop over and look at the patterns. I think I am going to add them to my Winter project list, that seems to get longer on a daily basis.
