Had a good
week, first of all there was a yarn delivery! Now I have no excuse not to
finish my WIP’s!
Liliana is
coming on well, just started my final round yay! Will post pictures next week
in all its glory.
Hanging head,
I started another blanket, I was browsing patterns on Ravelry as you do, and
found a pattern that sung out to me. For
ages I wanted to do a blanket on a flower theme but didn’t want it to be
flowery?! Does that make sense? Well I have found it, and I couldn’t resist
trying out the motifs. It is Field of Flowers by Catherine Bligh.
So pleased
with them, also I discovered a way to beat the boredom of long rounds with
stitches like back posts and puffs! For
some reason when the rounds of blankets are over 30 inches a side, I have great
difficulty in getting them done. Well,
this week I would do about half a side and then half a motif of the Field of Flowers
and then I could get back the long round with no difficulty! It’s a win, win situation, I am getting ahead
with the larger projects and I am getting motifs done, Yay.
I think that
is about it for this week, I will leave you with a picture of one of my cats,
Lucy. I couldn’t find and she hadn’t come
for her breakfast and she loves her food.
I went into my craft room and there she was peeping up at me!
See you next week and thanks for visiting.
I am joining the Ravelry group of bloggers YOP

Aww...Lucy...that's a great way to get around the motifs....I hate doing motifs also....I think I have a couple started somewhere.....That is a lovely blanket....
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeous yarns you received this week, Sharon! Makes me want to go squish some of mine. lol Your Sacred Space is looking lovely. I'm about three weeks behind you so you'll provide me with inspiration. ;^) And Field of Flowers will be a beauty when it's done. No shame in starting a new project!
ReplyDeleteYarn purchase ftw! It looks so yummy and clearly the cat thinks so too! Your crocheting is a work of art and a love the not flowery flowers too.
ReplyDeleteLucy is obviously liking your yummy new yarns. That’s a lovely piece she’s hidden behind, these crocheted items are works of art. The flowers in the squares look lovely and I know what you mean about wanting something floral, not flowery.
ReplyDeleteLucy is a cutie. She likes your yarny goodness. Love that mandala. How large is it now and how large will it be in the end? You have some lovely colors of yarn that came in the mail. Have fun
ReplyDeleteOoo, squishy mail! I love those colors and can't wait to see what it is going to become. Yay, another crochet blanket fan joining the YOPers! Your Sacred Space is coming along beautifully. I've got that on my radar too, and I know what you mean about when the rounds get loooooong. (Hi, Lucy!)
ReplyDeleteYour creations are just beautiful Sharon - love the colours you are using. Sweet picture of little lUcy - they love to tuck up in our craft rooms.
ReplyDeleteSacred Space is getting prettier by the week! I adore the new one and I like yours better than the one featured in the pattern. I think your background color is really showing off the flowers. I would love to do one like that too. I am a sucker for a good blanket pattern. Enjoy your new yarn and no wonder Lucy skipped breakfast...she was feasting on fiber!
