This one, a wip from a couple of years ago I got a chart from pinterest and looked on Ravelry but it is not on the data base. It is done with no.10 cotton and 1.50 hook.
This I had to frog back 10 rounds as I had made several mistakes, I have done three rounds and have about 10 to do, the pattern is from an English Womans Weekly circa March 1 1952! It is a set and looks so pretty.
The other thread project I started yesterday - a table cloth.
I am using 2 ply cotton in a ecru shade. I have about 4 more rounds in the motif. The pattern is from a magazine called Crochet Fantasy No.1 this will be a long term project, lol.
A New Cal
I dont really need a new cal, but this is special, an afghan called Fairytale and is based around fairytales, each round relates to the fairytale for that part. Part one was the Little Match Girl. It is a leisurely cal as the parts are released every two weeks.I have been plodding away on my other projects and will update them next week.
I have started another drawing from a photo I took of some flowers that were given to me last summer, and it is quite scary, as I want it to be hyper realistic, so I squared it up in Photoshop and segment by segment I will work on it, in the photo you can see I hav e just started.
After a beautiful start to Spring the weather has turned bitter and snow has come down to 500 metres on the Tararua ranges. So it is snuggle up time and hunkering down in front of the fire with the kitties and crochet.
Ambrose has picked up this last week, and is gaining strength day by day.
Well that is all for this week.

Lovely doily and new creations !!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice week !
Anna
I love doilies! Yours are gorgeous. I love the old fashioned ones they put on furniture arms and backs in the old days too. I'm so glad you had your surgery and see again. I had Grave's disease and was going blind but had 2 surgeries and can see better than ever. I have the beginning of cataracts the doc said but nothing to worry about yet but eventually. It's nice to hear yours was so successful! Doilies are on my YOP list this year for sure. I've made one so far but need to make more!
ReplyDeleteThe tablecloth is going to be beautiful and an heirloom for sure. The Fairytale CAL sounds like fun and so pretty. I love hearing about your cold weather and snow and fire in the fireplace as it is sweltering here! I can't wait for a cool down! Is Ambrose your cat? I hope he feels better and heals soon. Your art work is so lovely. Have a great week and I hope your Spring comes soon for you and Fall to me! LOL!
Followed the link to the Fairytale pattern and wow - that is going to be amazing. Between you and Maria, I think I will be content to work on my one large CAL project and watch the two of you work through the half dozen or so I've seen this weekend. I love all the colors! Now, you CAN inspire me to get back to doily making. I've been thinking I need some around here for fall. I've given away most of the ones I made last year. :)
ReplyDeleteYour doilies are beautiful. So glad the ops in your eyes made it possible for you to work with thread again. A crocheted tablecloth!!!! What an heirloom it will be. My grand has my grandmother's crocheted cloth and loves the idea that it came from her great great grandmother! Your Fairy Tale CAL is already breathtaking. Looking forward to seeing it as it progresses. I am imagining snow while we sit at over 100F still. Although we seldom get snow here, the mountains around us do and it is so lovely to look at.
ReplyDeleteYay for cataract surgery! I love being able to see again and your doilies are lovely. I am glad Ambrose is feeling better too.
ReplyDeleteThat's so great about your eyes! I've never made a doily but I have a ball of that thread around here somewhere. Maybe after I finish all my other CALs! LOL! The Fairytale CAL sure looks lovely. Your colors sure look like perfect.
ReplyDeleteI always love your doilies Sharon - they are just beautiful. That is such a gorgeous photo of your kitties snuggled together - how special. It has turned cold again here too & we are low in firewood. This is typical spring weather.

In this manner my partner Wesley Virgin's report launches with this shocking and controversial video.
ReplyDeleteWesley was in the military-and shortly after leaving-he unveiled hidden, "MIND CONTROL" tactics that the CIA and others used to get anything they want.
As it turns out, these are the EXACT same secrets many famous people (notably those who "come out of nowhere") and the greatest business people used to become wealthy and successful.
You've heard that you use less than 10% of your brain.
That's because the majority of your brainpower is UNTAPPED.
Maybe that conversation has even occurred IN YOUR own mind... as it did in my good friend Wesley Virgin's mind 7 years back, while riding an unregistered, beat-up garbage bucket of a vehicle without a driver's license and with $3 on his bank card.
"I'm absolutely frustrated with living paycheck to paycheck! When will I become successful?"
You've taken part in those types of questions, ain't it right?
Your success story is going to happen. You just need to take a leap of faith in YOURSELF.
