It has been raining since I last posted and I haven’t been able to get into the garden at all. The zucchini seems to love the rain, I am picking several every day, the only thing is that I noticed that powdery mildew is starting to rear its ugly head!
A few days later….
Part of the biggest problem with my diet has been the tendency to procrastinate, which led to me putting the decision of what to eat in the too hard basket and opting for a cheese sandwich or something. I thought I would go back and follow my Mum’s example. I wouldn’t follow her pattern but make up my own. Sunday – stir fry tofu or chicken; Monday – Bean Stew; Tuesday – Pasta; Wednesday - Bean Tortillas; Thursday – Risotto or Pilaf; Friday – Fish; Saturday – veggie fritters.
I won’t necessarily follow it to the letter, but it is something to fall back on. Above is today’s lunch – Courgette fritters.
The weather has improved and the sun is back, very hot, I am not complaining, except that I had to water the garden! (we are never happy with the weather!)
Crochet
Over the last couple of years, I have done a little crochet from time to time and have finally amassed enough squares to make up a throw.
Now comes the part I am not very good at - joining them! The pattern is the central part of the Elements cal I did a few years back. I thought that they would be a good way to use up my stash. I am figuring that if a join a square a day, it might get finished before winter.
Lately I have been very taken with the concept of living life slowly, I have always been a person who did things in a rush at the last moment, with the result I am a bit disorganized. I would make lists, but they were very long and I could never get to the bottom of them. I watched a vlog on how our grandmothers always kept a perfect house, no clutter, clean and sparkling, a place for everything and a sense of peace. I decided to follow the 1 2 3 system, everyday you choose 3 things on your list, today it is vacuum clean the lounge, finish my blog post and laundry. Anything else that gets done is a bonus! The universe was telling me something as a vlog came up by a Ukrainian girl who videos her day (no talking just the sounds of her activities, very calming) amid the inconvenience of war, power outages etc. Her house is sparkling clean, her meals look lovely, her sewing gorgeous and her cat adorable. Her name is Tanita Gui and her cat Murik. She is an inspiration!

This morning while sitting at my drawing table, I looked out the window and on the other side of the pane was this little waxeye, I could of reached out and touched the little guy if it wasn’t for the glass.
I think I will finish here as it will never get posted otherwise, have a great weekend and week.
