Decluttering and a Mismash

Decluttering is something I want to focus on this year.  So far I haven't really thrown anything out, but have made progress in sorting my stash of wool and now I have ventured into the UFO's (unfinished objects). The crochet squares above I did way back 2017? I cant remember, I used to belong to a group on Ravelry that did a square a month. But, I never joined them, I hate joining and as I could never decide on the colour they got put in a bag and stuffed into the bottom of the wardrobe! Anyways I fished the bag out and I have about 3 afghan worth of squares. Naughty person! I am thinking of purple, but I haven't any purple  in 8 ply, but I have purple in 10 ply, I might try a block next week and see how it sits.  I don't really want to buy any more wool (its pure wool,Naturally Loyal, I don't even know if it is still made!) So that is my chore next week.

This last week has been busy finishing off some commissions. Below is one that I can show you as it is already in the possession of the lady that ordered it. It was drawn in coloured pencils from a photo that she took off our coast last summer.

Baby Sea Lion

Today, I went to Mitre10, because I am thinking of painting my hall and eventually the bedroom.  It is a manky cream and probably hasn't seen a coat of paint for over 10 years.  I want something to brighten it up as it only gets the sun early morning rest of the time it is darkish.

So I got some test pots and cards and of course I couldn't resist looking at the houseplant section and came away with some baby plants,  well  they were only $5 each...

They gave me  a box to put  all my bits in and Lucy had to off course squeeze herself into it.  I laughed at her efforts and that's why I got that glare!  Sorry Lucy!

Being Sunday, I treated myself to a nice breakfast after I went to the Market, I got my waffle pan out and made banana and chocolate chip waffles, Yummy! I froze some for later on too as they were quite filling.

I was going to do some baking but making the waffles was enough.

The rest of the  afternoon I spent in the garden, just general tidying up, things are going to go downhill there as we have water restrictions as it become very dry.  But these gazanias bring a burst of colour.

Well I will say bye for now and stay safe.

Your waffles look delicious, too! Yum! Hope the week ahead will be a good one and enjoy deciding on the paint color. :)

  3. Your crochet squares are so beautiful. You always make the most beautiful intricate crochet.
I tend to crochet more simple squares. Grannies or hexagons. I've seen those CAL's on Ravelry but have never joined. But I've been tempted.
Your squares will make a wonderful afghan.

Your cat is so cute. They do always like to squeeze into the tiniest spots don't they?
I bet those waffles were delicious.

    1. Thank you Debra, I don't do those complicated CAL's anymore, I like simple now, Imhavent been on Ravelry for a few years so don't get tempted any more, lol.
Lucy always hops into boxes the smaller the better, she also uses them as a scratching post so they can get rather tattered!

I have lots ufo's too and to be honest not a clue with what to do with a couple of them, so much work has gone into one of them but I can't bring myself to continue with it theres just so much work involved. I am so impressed with your drawing you are very talented, please show us more of your work. Have you decided on a colour for your hall yet? mine needs painting too it's painted white at the moment and I quite like it but it needs freshening up. I've never made waffles, yours looks yummy. I bought a houseplant too today.

  5. Yes I have some UFO's I don't know what to with. I intend to show at least one picture a week of my art as I spend a lot of time drawing painting etc. I only started making waffles last year when I was given the waffle machine as a gift.

  6. Sorry I'm late here Sharon but have my grandson staying & computer time is limited. Love the blanket you are working on - such gorgeous colours. Lucy is so funny - what is it with cats & boxes??!! Your new houseplants look lovely - those baby plants soon grow. I hope you manage to choose a wall paint colour - I find it so hard.

  7. I joined the BAM CAL group on Ravelry for several years, and I've only completed 5 or 6 squares total. That's a project I'd love to get back to if my hands ever get to working that well again. I love your colors! Your drawing of the baby seal lion is amazing. I look forward to seeing more of your artwork.

You made me laugh at Lucy, too - funny cat. And those waffles make me want to get my waffle maker out. Wondering now if that ever got unpacked. I still haven't found my one-cup glass measuring cup. I gave up and bought another, but you'd think the original would have shown up by now...

  10.  Thank you for such a great post you wrote here and I'm very obliged to write an article here on the benefit of herbal herbs.I am 29 years old and have been diagnosed with breast cancer, ease of treatment and a similar story, except for my first acceptance as a rejection of herbal medicine.
